Starting July 2024, Increased TSMIT for Employer Sponsored Visas (Subclass 482, 186 and 187)

The Temporary Skilled Migration Income Threshold (‘TSMIT’) sets the minimum salary payable to a sponsored employee under various Employer Sponsored Visas, including subclass 482 TSS, 494 SESR, 186 ENS or 187 RSMS visas.

Previously, the TSMIT was A$70,000 effective 1 July 2023.

NEW UPDATE

On 28 May 2024, the Department of Home Affairs announced an increase in the TSMIT to A$73,150, effective 1 July 2024. This raises the minimum salary that Australian employers are required to pay their sponsored overseas workers.

From 1 July 2024, any new nomination applications must propose a base salary of at least A$73,150 in order to participate in the Employer Sponsored Visa Programme.

However, nomination applications lodged before 1 July 2024 will not be affected.
